World Cup Winner's CV, Brazilian Coach Still Respects Indonesia U-17 National Team

Brazil's coach, Dudu Patetuci, respects all opponents in the 2025 U-17 World Cup, including the Indonesia U-17 national team.

As is usually the case in senior category tournaments, the Brazilian national team remains the favorite in the 2025 U-17 World Cup.

The team nicknamed Canarinha has won this event four times.

Their collection of titles is the second most after Nigeria (5 trophies).

Brazil won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the editions of 1997, 1999, 2003, and 2019.

Dudu Patetuci was part of the champion team of Tim Samba Junior last time.

Five years ago, the 53-year-old man was an assistant to the head coach, Guilherme Dalla Dea.

The Yan Couto generation lifted the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup trophy in their own country by defeating Mexico 2-1 in the final.

With a CV or resume as a member of the world champion team, Dudu brings that experience to the 2025 Qatar tournament as a plus.

She realized that the presence of the Brazilian U-17 national team is always accompanied by the burden of winning every tournament they participate in.

The first match against Honduras on Tuesday (11/4/2025) still brought nervousness despite their proven track record.

"It cannot be denied that we feel anxious, right? This is the World Cup. A very important competition," said Carlos Eduardo Patetuci to the FIFA website.

Although I participated in the 2019 U-17 World Cup, it still caused anxiety.

"But we must control our emotions and stay calm. We are nervous, especially because this is our debut, right? Then slowly start to relax," he said again.

Brazil's U-17 journey when winning the 2019 edition was not easy.

Canarinha was left behind several times by the opponents in the knockout stage, including during the final match.

Luckily for them, the mental quality of the young people from Samba Country has been tested since childhood, enabling them to overcome all challenges and become champions.

Dudu considers that the obstacle could be experienced by Brazil in the 2025 U-17 World Cup.

This makes him still respect all opponents, especially the first three rivals in the group stage.

For the duel against the Indonesia U-17 national team coached by Nova Arianto, the stage will be set on matchday 2 at Field 7 Aspire Zone, Al Rayyan, on Friday (11/7/2025).

Brazil will first meet Honduras on Tuesday at 19:30 WIB, and then close the group stage by facing Zambia on Monday (10/11/2025).

Dudu Patetuci emphasized that the luxurious track record of the Brazilian U-17 national team in this tournament should not be used as a reason to underestimate their opponents.

"我们的对手是那些在青年组别中没有夺冠历史的队伍," he continued.

However, after discussing with the coaching staff and players, I said that we must be very careful and respect Honduras, Indonesia, and Zambia.

Considering the current development of globalized football, Morocco has just become the champion of the U-20 World Cup.

We must show a lot of respect to them.

We have already analyzed the teams and will play aggressively to win every match to advance to the next round.

The goal of Brazil in participating in any competition is always to win the title.

This generation has been cooperating for about three years, since the U-15 category, the athletes have known each other well, we have good preparation.

"This year, we became the South American champions without being defeated. We came to fight for the title," he said excitedly.
