Jorginho Confirms Arsenal Exit, Signs Three-Year Deal with New Club

Jorginho has issued a heartfelt statement announcing his exit from Arsenal .

The Italian midfield player was with Arsenal for two and a half years afterward. joining the club in January 2023 in a £12m move from Chelsea .

Jorginho claimed victory in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge. Although he did not secure any titles during his time at the Emirates Stadium, he remained a well-liked presence both within the locker room and amongst Arsenal supporters.

It was reported that Mikel Arteta was attempting to persuade the 33-year-old to remain with Arsenal for an additional year. However, Jorginho confirmed his exit on Tuesday evening.

Jorginho is now poised to go back to the land where he was born, having signed a three-year agreement with the Brazilian club Flamengo .

In January, Flamengo attempted to secure Jorginho but has now successfully signed him for the 2025-26 season and the forthcoming Club World Cup.

The confirmation of Jorginho’s exit will likely intensify Arteta’s determination to retain midfield player Thomas Partey within the team.

Similar to Jorginho, Partey's contract with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium is nearing its conclusion.

The Ghana international is willing to remain with Arsenal However, it has caught the attention of Atletico Madrid, Juventus, along with teams in Saudi Arabia.

Arteta’s midfield will get stronger this summer with the addition of Martin Zubimundi from Real Sociedad, who is anticipated to participate in a £51m transfer to North London .
