Global mobile phone market grows 3 percent
Overall, Omdia recorded smartphone shipments in the global mobile phone market in Q3-2025 reaching 320.1 million units, an increase of 3 percent year-on-year.
The regions experiencing rapid growth, according to an Omdia report, are Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.
Omdia said the current market growth is driven by devices below 100 US dollars (approximately Rp 1.6 million) and above 700 US dollars (approximately Rp 11.3 million).
It means that the mid-range phone segment, which is usually filled with phones priced around 200-300 US dollars (around Rp 3-4 million), is quite sluggish.
In the future, Omdia predicts that the prices of new smartphones will continue to rise, which could hinder growth in the lower segment.
