Media Purwodadi –Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi laid the first stone for the renovation of Asy Syifa Mosque at RSUD dr Moewardi Surakarta on Monday, November 3, 2025.

This cornerstone-laying moment symbolizes the beginning of the commitment to establish a hospital that is friendly to the community and healthcare workers.

In his speech, Governor Ahmad Luthfi emphasized the importance of the mosque as a center of tranquility for patients, families, and medical staff who fight every day at RSUD dr Moewardi, Surakarta.

Governor Ahmad Luthfi also hopes that this place of worship becomes a source of spiritual inspiration amid health service activities.

The renovation of Asy Syifa Mosque at RSUD dr Moewardi in Surakarta is designed to be more spacious, comfortable, and traveler-friendly. The construction plan includes adding a wudu area, lactation room, and rest facilities for patients' families waiting for treatment.

According to the Governor of Central Java, hospitals are not only places for physical healing, but also spaces for strengthening the spirit.

"I hope this mosque renovation aligns with the hospital's motto: Comfortable, Responsive, and Satisfying," said Ahmad Luthfi.

He added that a comfortable mosque will strengthen the spiritual relationship between humans and the Creator.

"May the existence of Asy Syifa Mosque bring great benefits in increasingHablumminallah," he said in front of the congregation and RSUD dr Moewardi staff.

Head of Bin Rois Hospital, Arif Nurudin, explained that the mosque renovation project is funded from various sources. The funds come from the mosque's own funds, the Zakat collection unit (UPZ), as well as donations from donors who care about the worship facilities in the hospital.

"Total budget reaches approximately Rp1.7 billion and will be used to expand the building, beautify the interior, and add supporting facilities," explained Arif Nurudin during the event.

Arif also stated that this renovation had been planned for a long time and finally could be implemented thanks to the full support of the Central Java Governor and various parties within RSUD dr Moewardi, Surakarta.

This groundbreaking ceremony was attended by officials from the Central Java Provincial Government, the management of Dr. Moewardi General Hospital, religious figures, and local community members. The atmosphere was solemn and full of hope.

One of the patient's families, Doni Tri Haryono, also expressed his gratitude for the renovation plan of Asy Syifa Mosque at RSUD dr Moewardi. He feels the existence of this mosque is very helpful for the patient's family while waiting for the treatment process.

"Very happy, the mosque is big and comfortable. It's also suitable for resting, so we who are waiting for patients don't have to worry about finding a place to take shelter," said Doni, a resident from Madiun, while smiling with deep emotion.

Besides the groundbreaking ceremony, RSUD dr Moewardi also participated in the National Blood Donation Activity initiated by the National Regional Hospital Association (Arsada). The activity involved 400 RSUD across Indonesia.

The humanitarian action successfully recorded a MURI (Indonesian Book of Records) record as the largest simultaneous blood donation event, with a total of 60,000 donors from various regions.

Through this momentum, RSUD dr Moewardi Surakarta once again demonstrates its commitment to strengthening humanistic and spiritual values in the midst of continuously developing modern healthcare services.
