El Salvador Backs Morocco's Sovereignty, Mulls Opening Consulate in Laayoune
The stance was restated by El Salvador’s Vice-President, FĂ©lix Ulloa, when he met with Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, in Quito, Ecuador. Mr. Bourita stood in for His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the inaugural event for Ecuador’s new president, Daniel Noboa.
The discussion during the meeting between Ulloa and Bourita focused on exploring the potential for establishing a consulate of the Republic of El Salvador in Laayoune, which they view as a crucial move toward acknowledging Morocco’s authority over this area.
Both sides also emphasized the robust friendship between El Salvador and Morocco, reaffirming their dedication to enhancing diplomatic relations and mutual collaboration.
The vice president of El Salvador conveyed his nation's readiness to enhance cooperation with the kingdom on matters of mutual concern and stressed the importance of joint efforts to foster an environment conducive to the prosperity of both populations.
