BGMEA Elections: Day Three Highlights Sammilito Parishad's Manifesto Launch
Dhaka, May 27 -- The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) carried on with its sequence of events to introduce candidates for the forthcoming 2025-2027 elections at their ongoing session led by the election committee on Monday; this was the third successive day they conducted such an event.
The event was held at the auditorium within the BGMEA Complex located in Uttara. During the session, Abul Kalam, who serves as the Managing Director of Chaity Group and is also a Panel Leader for the Sammilito Parishad, shared his group’s election platform with voters hailing from the Dhaka area.
The candidates listed as ballot numbers 36 through 70 from the parishad were presented to the assembled voters.
Led by Mohammad Iqbal, who serves as both the Chairman of the BGMEA Election Committee and a past chairman of the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC), previous BGMEA presidents including Kazi Moniruzzaman, Kutubuddin Ahmed, and S.M. Fazlul Hoque, along with BKMEA president Muhammad Hatem and board members, attended this gathering.
The introductory meeting for candidates running in the BGMEA elections from 2025 to 2027 has started.
The Chief Election Commissioner and ex-president of BGMEA, Faruque Hassan, was present at the session along with other key figures from the Sammilito Parishad.
At the event, Mohammad Iqbal expressed his gratitude to all the candidates and encouraged everybody to collaborate in order to maintain a just and open electoral process.
