PDP Forms Edo Caretaker Committee: International Update

The National Working Committee (NWC) Peoples Democratic Party The PDP has formed a 10-member caretaker committee for the party in Edo State.

The statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba from Abuja on Tuesday mentioned that the committee had been established on behalf of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

Dr. Tony Aziegbemi leads the 10-member committee, with Hon. Henry Duke Tenebe acting as secretary.

The other members include Hon. Harrison Omagbon, Hon. Fidel Igenegbale, Hon. Chris Nehikhare, Tony Anenih Jr., Archbishop Anthony Okosun, Hon. Segun Saiki, Adekuburatu Ibrahim, and Augustine Edosomwan.

The statement says: "The National Working Committee (NWC) of our esteemed party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP), acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), and according to Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (2017 revised edition), has endorsed the appointment of the Edo State Caretaker Committee to oversee the operations of the Edo State chapter of our party."

The directive stated that the Caretaker Committee has been tasked with managing the affairs of the party in Edo State, as outlined in Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP Constitution, for a duration not longer than three months.

The NWC further instructed all members of the Party in Edo State to stay unified and collaborate with the Caretaker Committee for the stability and success of our Party.

Subsequently, the party urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and the media to acknowledge the appointment and makeup of the Edo State Caretaker Committee headed by Dr. Tony Aziegbemi and act accordingly.
