JAMB to Unveil 2025 UTME Results This Friday – International Edition (English)
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that results for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination will be released on Friday, May 9, 2025.
This indicates that applicants who took this year’s UTME can start viewing their scores beginning Friday morning.
The board revealed the progress in an official statement provided to The PUNCH in Abuja.
"The announcement stated that the 2025 UTME will be held tomorrow, Friday, May 9, 2025, at the JAMB National Headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, with timing set for 8 AM," as per the released information.
Prior to the launch, JAMB released data on the performance of the 1.9 million students who took part in the examination. The numbers reveal an impressive yet concerning trend: more than 1.5 million candidates obtained scores under 200, a mark typically seen as average.
The UTME is graded out of a maximum of 400 points and assesses students in four main areas. The Use of English is compulsory for everyone, but applicants can select an additional three topics based on their planned field of study.
In response to the performance figures, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, stated that these outcomes demonstrate the success of governmental initiatives aimed at reducing examination misconduct.
“The high failure rate in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination is clear evidence that the government’s anti-malpractice measures are yielding results, especially within the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board system,” he said.
