Early access
So, I see Doom: The Dark Ages This is one of those titles where purchasing a collector's edition allows you to start playing it a few days ahead of schedule. It’s unclear how this provides much value, particularly since it’s exclusively a single-player experience. Nonetheless, there’ll always be people willing to shell out extra money for such perks.
I'm not saying I mind, but I am curious about what will transpire. GTA 6 . There’s already reports suggest it might cost £100 Or more, but what will the special editions cost? I'd wager a significant amount that at least one of them will offer early access to the game—a week ahead, perhaps—and I'm curious about the price tag attached to this. Could it be as high as £150?
Next up will be the ultra-special edition featuring a statue of Jason and Lucia, priced at around £300 or some outrageous amount. I'm genuinely intrigued to witness how extreme their approach will get, and my bet is that it'll go quite far indeed.

Interactive movies
I saw in the news that Netflix took down "Bandersnatch" along with all their other interactive shows from the platform. It’s unclear why they made this decision, but my guess is that these shows didn’t perform as well as expected.
I'm quite surprised because I found "Black Mirror: Bandersnatch" to work very effectively, even though interactive movies aren't typically my preference. It’s clear that Charlie Brooker understands what he’s doing with this kind of content; however, I had always envisioned that type of approach being used for handling video game adaptations in film down the line.
You already have games such as Until Dawn, which are essentially semi-interactive movies where your main task involves making basic decisions. It seems straightforward enough to recreate this experience on a smartphone app during a film. Of course, not for anything substantial, but something silly like integrating elements of Minecraft into this format could've been an interesting concept.
Rather than doing that, they chose to adapt Until Dawn into a film. The movie turned out to be non-interactive and shared very little resemblance with the original game. Perhaps it requires less effort for them since audiences tend to watch poor quality content anyhow, yet I believe this represents an unutilized chance.

No Redemption
I'm pleased to find out there are others who never quite caught onto the GTA craze.
I'm adding Red Dead Redemption to my list of games whose appeal I couldn't grasp.
I gave Red Dead Redemption multiple tries since everybody said it was incredible, but I found nothing could make it enjoyable for me, not even the presence of zombies.
It doesn't bother me much with regard to the violent elements, but I found the humor less amusing than intended. It seemed more like an attempt to appear witty rather than genuinely shedding light on societal issues.
I felt that the missions were monotonous and the controls were terrible.
Everyone has their preferences after all.

Launch explosion
I was told by someone who works in retail that even though all the pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 have been snapped up, there’s supposed to be a large shipment arriving just before release day. This means you might still find units available for walk-in purchases at major outlets like those operated by Argos (as my contact works at an Argos distribution center).
As of this writing at 4:35 pm on Tuesday, Very offers Switch 2 bundle deals but does not have the console sold separately. Available options include either the Mario Kart World package paired with Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom or bundled with a SanDisk SD card. Pricing ranges from approximately £477 to £494.

GC: Thanks for the latter specifically; we acknowledged your contribution. our story about it .
Take your time
It’s crazy How long does it take for new Persona games to come out? , but I'm not opposed to it. Personally, I would prefer having five truly excellent games (to be honest, I haven't played the first two) over a collection of twelve mediocre or poor ones. However, as far as I understand, Atlus has consistently maintained impressive quality over the years.
I could do without all the spin-offs though. I’m not aware that any of them have ever been any good and I think their time is much better spent on things like Metaphor: ReFantazio, which was excellent. Would much rather have seen a few of those – meaning original games in roughly the same style – than a bunch of half-assed tactics games and Dynasty Warriors crossovers.
Lossy
Paying the rent
Interesting discussion of whether the Nintendo Switch 2 is being sold at loss And although there isn't definitive consensus, it's clear that they aren't generating substantial profits from the console itself.
I think people often forget that games is all Nintendo do. They’re not Microsoft, or even Sony, where if their games division has a bad generation, they can just lean on something else in the meantime. Making their games and consoles a success, and profitable, is a matter of life and death for Nintendo.
Before you start complaining, I'm not excusing Nintendo for raising their prices, but at least with them, I get why they're doing it. Particularly since they use 'dynamic' pricing—where games like Mario Kart and Donkey Kong can have different costs—which makes me think they aren’t being overly greedy.
Clearly, Mario Kart World comes with a higher price tag since they understand it's the game everybody desires. However, this doesn't strike me as their most consumer-unfriendly move ever. It definitely isn't worse than what some other companies have pulled off.
Elsewhere, an executive at Take-Two might be figuring out the highest price point for GTA 6 without worrying about excluding many potential buyers who may find it too expensive. This approach seems flawed to me since selling to as many customers as possible should lead to greater profits. However, perhaps they believe gamers will save enough to purchase the game regardless of how high the cost goes.
I don’t think we’re at that stage yet for Nintendo games and hopefully we never will be, but gaming is definitely getting more expensive at the moment.

Pass it forward
After completing Dungeons Of Hinterberg the devs asked me to pass on the message if I enjoyed it. I really liked it and will direct readers to your review .
I tried it via Game Pass; initially an Xbox Series X/S exclusive, it became available on PlayStation 4 and 5 a few months back at a price of £18. It offered me around 20 hours of gameplay. There’s no Switch version yet, though perhaps we might see one in Version 2 since it appears well-suited for the platform.

Change is coming
Obviously, Horizon Zero Dawn 3 is on the horizon; there’s really no question about it. However, what piques my interest more is, from the latest leak What the PlayStation 6 will truly be is precisely as described. It surely won't merely be an additional plastic box for beneath your television, right? The enhancement in visuals would likely be insufficient to make such a minor change worthwhile.
Perhaps it's compact, but I find it hard to believe that Sony would create a next-gen console with lesser capabilities compared to its predecessor. They might consider doing so, but I doubt they'd be quite that daring.
So, will they unveil their new console and handle it just as they do with others? Is there expected to be only two or three first-party games, featuring stunning visuals, along with assurances of many more titles on the horizon? If so, this could signify a significant shift compared to what we've seen recently.
Maybe that is how it’ll be. Maybe they’ll just pretend this half of the generation never happened and they’ll just carry on like before. I’d welcome it, and it’s not like they do interviews or anything anymore, to explain themselves or be confronted for their bad decisions.
I'm unsure which path they'll take, but whatever action they decide on will likely appear odd and uncharacteristic for them. How does Sony manage to maintain such dominance while simultaneously seeming completely unruly and disorganized?

What a horrible story, Selling your buddy a Switch 2 for £600 I wouldn’t even consider taking advantage of my friends; instead, I’d let them preorder at the same price I paid. There’s more to life than money—this person’s ethics are dubious!

GC: Isn't that up to his friend to determine?
Even though I get where the reader is coming from for criticizing FromSoftware's focus on multiplayer titles, we should probably acknowledge that this is their current direction. Instead of grumbling over them pursuing projects they're enthusiastic about instead of straightforward sequels, we ought to support their creative drive.
